Turkey has 333 km coastal line which consists of 172 ports and terminals. From those terminals, 21 of are owned by state, 23 of them are owned by municipalities and 128 of them belong to private enterprises. Ports can be considered as base for commodities which are subject to international trades by entering / exiting to economy. As it is common all around the World, the main part of international Logistics is made through sea transportation in Turkey, which is still the cheapest way of logistics.
